Head of People & Performance - HR Manager

We are Academic Work! The adventure started in 1998 and we have come a long way since the small basement room where this project was born. Today we send more than 6000 young professionals per month on assignment to our clients and work on 800 recruitments per year in Europe. Academic Work Switzerland employs today 80 internal employees and 400 consultants on assignment with our clients. We expect to grow significantly in the coming years in the French speaking part of Switzerland but also in the German speaking part with the opening of our office in Zurich at the beginning of the year. People, company culture and performance are at the heart of everything we do and we are looking for our new Head of People & Performance - HR Manager to join the adventure!

About the role

In this position you will be part of the Swiss management team and will help shape and execute our strategy. You will play a central role in the development of our people, our best practices, our culture and our performance to ensure the best conditions for engagement and success.

Job duties

Collaborate closely with our managers:

  • Support and train managers to create engagement and performance over time
  • Implement and support managers and management team in organizational changes
  • Take an active role in the Country management meetings meaning supporting/challenging other process owners and in general reflecting on how to improve the company.
  • Continuously work close with our branch and staff managers in order to understand what needs and support managers are in need of

Training and development:

  • Develop and execute leadership trainings
  • Coordinate and have continuous contact with our internal and external training suppliers
  • Be responsible that articles on “Best Practice” within the process are up to date and includes the most recent and correct information

Talent Acquisition & retention:

  • Ensure together with our Talent Acquisition Team that we attract, recruit and retain the best talent
  • Continuously develop our work environment with a “Best place to Work” mindset
  • Support and plan compensation and benefits programs

Vision & Strategy:

  • Ensure that the organization complies with laws and regulations regarding the Swiss Labour market
  • Implement and Migrate to a new HRIS System
  • Take an active role in the Country management meetings meaning supporting/challenging other process owners and in general reflecting on how to improve the company.

You will also manage a People & Performance Assistant in Coordinating all internal HR administration tasks. And last but not least: Act as a role model in living our Core values !

We are looking for

Academic qualification: • Postsecondary education within human resource, economy, organization or other relevant for the position

Professional experience: • You are familiar with HR matters such as compensation & benefits, learning & development, onboarding & introduction, attraction & recruitment, leadership support and wellbeing, from a HR or management role • You are experienced in strategy work and long-term planning • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience (for example from a HR or management role)

Languages: • Excellent written and oral French and English skills, German a strong asset
